The Directorate of Extension Education was established in the year 2020. It is responsible for planning, coordination, and supervision of all the outreach programmes of the university. The directorate conducts various agricultural extension programmes and activities, including frontline demonstrations of the latest technologies, exposure visits, farmers fairs, and awareness programmes relevant to the field of agriculture and allied sectors. The directorate also organizes capacity-building programmes in the agriculture and allied sectors to enable farmers, rural youth, and women to implement improved farm practices and engage them in additional income generating vocational and entrepreneurial activities. The directorate of extension is actively involved in organization of training programmes for extension personnel to provide latest know-how on regular basis. Through the Directorate of Extension Education, the university also disseminates the crop specific periodic advisories on farm operations through its social media (WhatsApp, YouTube, Facebook etc.) and regional print media. The other services offered by the directorate to farmers include extension literature, mobile plant health clinic, technical video production, agricultural drone services etc.
Furthermore, the directorate also collaborates with public-private stakeholders, NGOs, and FPOs to ensure the successful implementation of outreach programmes. The Directorate of Extension Education is also engaged in implementation of extension research projects, impact assessment studies.

The Director of Extension Education under the aegis of Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University, Jhansi, is responsible for supervision and coordination of all Extension Education Programmes in the University and is responsible to the Vice- Chancellor for performance of his duties.

The Director of Extension Education is the ex officio Member-Secretary of the Extension Education Council of the University.

The Directorate of Extension Education is headed by the Director of Extension Education and is supported by faculties in directorate. Faculties in all colleges provideneed-based support to the directorate.
