The Rani Lakshmi Bai central agricultural University runs Army Wing NCC since 2019. NCC is an essential part of the course curriculum for students of B.Sc. programmes of College of Agriculture and College of Horticulture and Forestry. We have strength of 50 Girl cadets (SW) under the private Scheme from 32 UP Girls Battalion NCC Jhansi. It aims to develop character, discipline and the ideals of selfless service amongst the youth of the country and to contribute to creation of organized, trained and motivated youth. It helps students to embrace true leadership through hard work and dedication by participation in various activities of NCC. The socially aware students of our University are very much awake to the needs of nation building and social upliftment. The aim of the unit is to groom girls, nurture them and direct their energy towards nation building by making them responsible citizens.
The NCC gives tremendous opportunity to one and all for betterment, irrespective of caste, creed, religion or economic status and aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. Needless to say, the NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces.
