University has limited number of scientific manpower to carryout research on diverse areas. The current research priorities are as follows:

Sr.NoAgricultural Sciences
1In situ and ex situ water conservation and research on improving water productivity.
2Integrated farming systems for improving livelihood security.
3Resource conservation techniques to improve systems’ productivity
4Development of organic and natural farming modules for holistic development of
agriculture.
5Soil health improvement through conservation and rejuvenative agriculture.
6Plant genetic resources management for their utilization in crop breeding.
7Development of multi-adversities resistant/tolerant high yielding varieties / hybrids of
pulses, oilseeds, durum wheat, millets, and pseudo cereals etc.
8Integrated breeding to enhance genetic yield potential per se and improve quality
besides developing biofortified varieties of targeted crops.
9Development of climate resilient varieties of the targeted crops.
10Plant health management through development and popularization of IPM.
11Economic studies for understanding cropping systems profitability, yield gaps and
impact analysis of technologies being developed and at farmers’ fields.
12Research on improving self-life of honey and development of value added products
from mushroom
13Development of research methodologies for improving efficiency of outreach and
capacity programmes
14Production of quality seed production of major crops.
Sr. NoHorticulture Sciences
1Collection, characterization and evaluation of landraces of vegetables, fruits and
flowers dominating the region.
2Identification and development of promising fruits, vegetables and flower crops and
their varieties / hybrids for higher productivity and quality.
3Development of cost effective innovative integrated production technologies for
enhancing productivity of horticultural crops.
4Development of agri-horticultural systems and models.
5Introduction of potential vegetables, fruits and flowers, and development of their
varieties and matching production technologies.
6Post-harvest processing and value addition of horticultural produce.
Sr. NoForestry Sciences
1Identification of superior quality tree species for the relatively degraded lands.
2Development of agroforestry and agri-Silviculture models for effective utilization of
degraded lands.
3Techniques for raising quality planting material and establishment on rocky terrains.
4Exploring the potential of medicinal and aromatic pants, and their processing and
value addition.
5Mapping of biodiversity in the region using GIS and IRS.
Sr. NoVeterinary and Animal Sciences
1Development of low-cost methods for storage and value addition in crop residues
2Identification and nutrition enhancement of unconventional feed resources
3Improving animal health and productivity through nutrition
4Clean milk production under Indian conditions.
5Conservation and improvement of animal genetic resources of Bundelkhand viz.,
cow, goat and sheep.
6Nutritional manipulations for increasing bioactive peptides and omega-3 fatty Acids
of milk.
7Generation of animal behavioural information for sustaining with environment/
climate change and its effects on various performance traits.
8Identification and characterization of animals for registration/patents.
9Increasing yield and minimizing production risks through application of available
biotechnological techniques.
10Research for improving efficiency of rumen microbes.
11Creation and strengthening of regional facilities for clinical diagnosis of diseases of
livestock and wild animals.
12Standardizing use of ITK in prevention and control of diseases and parasites.
Sr. NoFisheries Sciences
1Development of indigenous feeds/ rations and feed additives for cultured fishes.
2Developing technology for fresh water fish and developing new products from trash
fish.
3Research on prevention and control of disease and parasites of fishes.
4In vitro technology for the production of fish seed.
5Genetic improvement of cultivable fish with respect to growth and disease resistance.
6Fish population genetics
7Novel fish food and product development.
8Improvement in processing and packing of traditional cured fish products.
9Research on fish proteins and oils.
