Molecular Biology & Biotechnology
The Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology was established in 2022. PG program in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (MBB) supported by Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology Government of India, has also been established and functional since 2023-24 with the intake of 10 PG students. In addition, students from ICAR are also getting admission in the same. This department is running in inter-institutional, inter-disciplinary mode with the collaboration of ICAR-IGFRI Jhansi. To be one of the leading departments in the field of Agricultural Biotechnology by offering quality education and imparting ideas amongst the budding youths to nurture the human resource for national and global needs.
- To provide in-depth knowledge of modern biotechnology with intensive practical training for transformation of agriculture, environment and human welfare.
- To create dynamic infrastructure in modern agriculture science and open it for the students across disciplines and departments to learn it through rational approach.
- To attract extramural funded projects and to nurture students and research scholars in the areas of frontier sciences.
- Utilization of crop wild relatives for the development of pre-breeding material
- Identification of new genes and linked DNA markers
- Whole genome sequencing of target crops and pathogens
- Exploration of Plant tissue culture techniques
