The department’s research and outreach efforts are centered on water and soil quality management in aquaculture, conservation of aquatic biodiversity, assessment and remediation of aquatic pollution, ecotoxicology of aquatic organisms, and the evaluation of climate change impacts on fisheries resources. It is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including laboratories for environmental monitoring, aquatic ecology, climate change studies, and ecotoxicology.
