The Department of Aquaculture has qualified and dedicated faculty members to facilitate teaching, research, and extension aimed at imparting fisheries knowledge to students, conducting research, addressing regional concerns, and promoting the sustainable growth of the aquaculture sector specially, in the Bundelkhand region. The department offers a two-year postgraduate degree program, i.e. Master of Fisheries Science (M.F.Sc.) with specializations in Aquaculture since 2024. The Department is working in the areas relevant to the region needs and has various  well equipped laboratories including water quality laboratory, aquaculture biotechnology laboratory, fish nutrition and feed technology laboratory, aquaculture engineering laboratory etc. The department also offers various training and Front-Line Demonstrations (FLDs) programmes on various aspects of aquaculture for sustainable aquaculture development in the region. The department also working on the capacity building/skill development of farmers, women and youth to promote entrepreneurship in the region.
