Agronomy & Agrometeorology
The Department aims to ensure quality education to young agricultural professionals and to promote character and ethics as an integral part of education. It is imparting teaching in various courses at under graduate (UG), post graduate (P.G.) and Ph.D. level. Department is committed to indulge in research on most pertinent and current issues of agriculture for sustainable development of farming community. Department is tackling the emerging issues of agriculture due to climate change and suggestion to improve input use efficiency and natural resource management through Crop Diversification, Integrated Farming System, in situ-Rainwater management, Natural Farming, Conservation Agriculture. Developing quality human resources and evolving new technologies to meet the diversified needs of the increasing population under diminishing natural resources.

- Major emphasis would be laid on natural resource management through generation of environment friendly technologies.
- Up-scaling of proven economic technologies like crop establishment methods, bed planting, DSR, etc.
- Good agricultural practices for major cropping systems of to enhance productivity and resource use efficiency.
- Resource conservation technologies for higher resource use efficiency, profitability and sustainability of emerging cropping systems.
- Agro-techniques for efficient use of irrigation and rainwater and crop diversification for climate resilient agriculture.
